Technicon the Last is over. Kinda sad, but I honestly think it would be better for it to die and be resurrected full-strength in a few years than to limp along like this. Just not the same when it's not a 24-hour con at a hotel. But there's precious little in the way of facility space in Bburg, or more importantly, staff.

Discussing something along these lines with [livejournal.com profile] clar1ssa last night--it wouldn't be anywhere near the same if it moved to someplace like Roanoke, either. Getting to be in Blacksburg is half the fun.

Posted a handful of shots, btw, including a few of you at Whose Con Is It Anyway? :D I wish now I'd taken a lot more pictures, though.

I saw those. I've known [livejournal.com profile] mikailborg for a long time (13 years?), but his costumes still terrify me.

You say the nicest things!

I can't supply a definite figure, but thirteen years is about right. I was pretty startled to be counting up the years today and realize that I'd been hanging around VTSFFC longer than [livejournal.com profile] yubbie. I didn't get to say so this weekend, but you were looking pretty good. Your current lifestyle must be agreeing with you!

This got me trying to remember when I first met you. I remember seeing you at Virginia Western, but think I was only formally introduced to you by [livejournal.com profile] kittykatya when you were running a Shadowrun game in...'91 or '92. I think it was '91 because I believe I was still dating [livejournal.com profile] dravon at the time.

I saw the Pawtowskis tonight and we chatted about the con a bit: it's certainly not unreasonable to ask Spiel or one of the other VTSFFC spinoffs to be the org of record, but yeah the staffers who remain need a break it seems. Jerry did a great job with what he had this year, though!

Thank you for that. It's hard to put on a con when your guest/presenter list is longer than the staff list.
