Yes. I have the three-day weekend off and now I'm too unmotivated to even play the Playstation. Instead, I'm posting to LJ, and watching Zoolander. It's a movie I've been curious about seeing, but unwilling to actually PAY for. Although, that describes my attitude about most movies. However, it's been a busy week, thanks to SFFU.

Saturday
10:00 - 10:30 Go shopping for SFFU cookout
11:00 - 12:30 Prep food for SFFU cookout
1:00 - 4:15 Meet [livejournal.com profile] willow_red's parents
4:30 - 5:30 SFFU book discussion
6:00 - 11:00 SFFU meeting

Sunday
10:00 - 11:00 Additional food prep
12:00 - 6:00 SFFU cookout / gameday

SFFU, by the way, is the Science Fiction and Fantasy Underground at CU. SFFU-CU should be pronounced phoenetically for maximum humor value. Oddly enough, there was no scifi club at CU when I got here, so a friend and I started it. If the site sucks, it's because I'm maintaining it.

Anyhow, got stuffed at the cookout and not wanting dinner which is good 'cause I'm too lazy now to do anything about it. Probably just as well. Bratwursts are on the fattening side.

Best to split tonight's entry up.

So, we got an exercise machine (one of the Gazelle thingies) and set it up in the basement. We set up a TV and DVD player, so that we could watch stuff while exercising, and therefore actually use it. Problem is, it's a craptacular DVD player. It likes to crap out about 10 minutes from the end of a Babylon 5 episode. There's nothing wrong with the discs. They play fine on every other device I ever tried. But it's frustrating when it starts skipping during the final confrontation in "Into the Fire" or Bester's monologue in "The Face of the Enemy". I lost over 10 pounds since September. I was down to 160, but I've popped back up a bit. Would like to get down to 150.

Here's a horrible crossover idea I had. Perhaps others have had it, but I don't know about it.

It's Lord of the Rings with the characters from the Clerks world.

We have Jay and Silent Bob as Legolas and Gimli. They stand outside the gates of Minas Tirith, while LegoJay does the "noinch" rap. We replace Christopher Lee with Jason Lee. "Gandalf! Would you like a chocolate-covered lembas pretzel?" Frodo Hicks will complain that "he's not even supposed to be here today!" and Randaragorn points out that "this war would be great if it wasn't for the fscking orcs."

Thoughts?
