Destruction

Our patio is now just a rubble pile. And so is the step down to it from the house. The air hammer was surprisingly quiet, but we were still awakened. They haven't hauled the old concrete away yet. I'm probably not going to be going into work much this week. My employer's fine with that as I finished everything I needed to get done. I'll just be popping in to pack up my stuff, photocopy some papers to read on the trip and turn in my keys.

Update: They've cleared away the rubble and built a new frame. Guessing they'll pour tomorrow. Although given how construction projects work around here it could be weeks before they come back. They had to take out a panel of sidewalk a couple years ago to put in a new network of sprinklers and still haven't replaced it. There's just a mound of dirt there.
