D'oh. The burr coffee grinder we bought back in April is dead. No response at all when I push the button. It worked just fine on Thursday. Maybe the cord's loose or something, but the problem is not apparent. It's a Cuisinart and those things are usually pretty solid. There is a warranty, and by a stroke of luck we actually still have the receipt for it, since it was purchased at the same time as the Dyson. I called the customer service number, but I don't feel like waiting on hold for an indeterminate time right now. Maybe I'll take care of it tomorrow.
kathleenroberts's mother just sent us a whole bunch of her mother's old china that never gets used anymore. A lot of it. As in three large Dish Pack boxes worth. If I ever need to be mailed somewhere, I want Sherry to pack me. Eight thousand items, and not a single piece damaged (apart from the few that already had chips in them to start with). She must have bought the state out of bubble-wrap. Now we gotta figure out where to stash it all. I have no idea how big the main set originally was, because there are 14 saucers, but only 7 dinner plates. 16 settings maybe? We will keep out a set of 8 and stash the rest. There's also a tea set, a very nice sake set, and some sort of drinking-game set (roll a die and drink from the cup with the pattern that matches the die). that
kathleenroberts's grandfather brought back from Japan after WWII. We took pictures of all the items so we could wrap them back up and slap the photo on the package. That way we can tell what everything is without needing to unwrap it.
And now, even though we have eight varieties of tea in the house, we can now put all the tea in china. Thank you, I'll be here all week. Try the veal.
