Halloween (late post)
Nov. 2nd, 2007 11:45 amI made a snowman jack o'lantern this year out of the white pumpkins. I'll post a pic when I get a chance. I decided against a scarf because that would catch fire. It was an awesome set of pumpkins, but NOBODY SAW IT! Not one damn trick or treater this year. I kind of understand because our house is set back a ways from the road and the driveway for the row of townhouses we're in is not well lit.
On the other hand, we did throw a very nice (I thought) Halloween party for SAMA (the UCSC anime club). By far the most people we've ever had in our house at once. We made a big ol' pot of chili (with an 'I'), mulled cider, and several dozen steamed pork buns and onigiri. The latter items lasted perhaps 10 minutes. We also have about fifteen thousand hotdogs and cans of pop leftover that others brought.
kathleenroberts and I dressed as Raquel and Shannon from Scrapped Princess. The costumes were far less uncomfortable than I rememberd from the last time we wore them.
I gave a talk at Berkeley last Wednesday. The drive is not fun, but not terrible either. Parking was . . . interesting.
I got a flu shot last Thursday; now I have a cold.
