Well, housewarming will likely have to wait. Until, we move into a new house to warm.
Our landlord's wanting to sell the property. He's not being foreclosed on; he owns the place outright, but he apparently needs some cash. We have a lease, so we can stay here until November, but we can't renew it. They're offering to sell the place to us, but I don't think we want to buy THIS place. I'm not sure we want to buy anything what with my position not being permanent. But we need a new place to rent.
Frankly, it's a bit of a relief. This is a little pricier than I'm wanting to pay. I was contemplating moving out at the end of the lease, but didn't want to go through the hassle of moving again so soon. Now, the decision has been made for us. The nice thing is that we have nine months to arrange something. If they'll let us out of the lease early, I think we'll be on our way as soon as we can. Although that may be April.
Gave a talk at Hopkins today. They're looking to beef up their planetary program. Looks like I may be able to wrangle a visiting faculty position there at some point.
Oh, and I have a cold.
