1. Can you cook?
Yes, and I'm a food info junkie. I particularly like the Cook's Illustrated magazine and The Best Recipe series of cookbooks, because they tell you WHY they wrote the recipe the way they did, and they tried every possible version of it to find the best one. Likewise I enjoy Good Eats with Alton Brown because he's entertaining and tells you WHY things happen in the kitchen.
2. What was your dream growing up?
To have something to do with space, even if it wasn't being an astronaut. I guess I set my sights a bit lower (pun intended)
3. What talent do you wish you had?
Singing.
4. Favorite place?
Outer Banks, NC
5. Favorite vegetable?
Do mushrooms count as a vegetable?
6. What was the last book you read?
"American Gods" by Neil Gaiman was the last proper book. I've been reading the Rurouni Kenshin manga lately.
7. What zodiac sign are you?
Western: Virgo, Chinese: Horse
8. Any tattoos and/or piercings?
No, and I do not intend to.
9. Worst habit?
Behold! the power of procrastination.
10. Do we know each other outside of lj?
I assume so. I don't have anyone on my friends list, I didn't already know in real life.
11. What is your favorite sport?
Iron Chef doesn't count as a sport, does it? I'm just not into them much. The Olympics are nice, though.
12. Negative or optimistic attitude?

They change color depending on my mood. I'll go with grey.
