We got a new water heater last night. Turns out the controller was busted and when that goes, it's most of the cost of a new tank. Also the tank itself was rusting out on the bottom. So the new one is installed, and it lit, and we both got hot showers last night. Yay.

The new washer and dryer came this morning. They're being used right now, so I will finally be able to wear clean clothes tomorrow. I ran out yesterday.

The guy who installed our new heater (Martin) was really nice. He's a friend of our landlady and was just doing this as a favor. He told us where to go for the best sushi and Mexican food (not at the same place), and where to get fish while avoiding the Municipal Wharf of Death in Santa Cruz.

My parents offered to buy us a couch as a graduation present, so we bought that today. It won't be delivered until Thursday, however.

We also discovered that the tree growing right outside our front door is a lemon tree. None of them are ripe yet, but when they are we'll find a use for them. When life gives you lemons . . . Now if we only knew what to do when life gives you urine.
